Eclipse is a Medicare initiative that enables doctors, Health Funds, Medicare Australia and practice administrators to lodge and settle claims electronically, safely and securely.
An industry wide seamless e-commerce solution that would streamline your billing and claiming process has been available since July 2004. Eclipse is an inpatient claiming tool that can be used by your practice to send and remit No and Known Gap claims and lodge other inpatient medical claims over the Internet.

All Participating AHSA Funds now use Eclipse
All Australian private health funds support and welcome the Eclipse initiative which will enhance the medical claiming process. The Eclipse system uses the Internet and can be easily integrated into your desktop practice management systems by your software vendor. Claims payment can be reduced from weeks to a matter of days.
The Fund IDs are located in your practice's software packages. Your software program will download the latest list of Fund IDs. Your practice should contact your software vendor if you are unable to locate the 'Fund ID' button in your software package.
Funds' Eclipse Participant ID is also available in the Access Gap Cover 'Participating Funds Contact List'.

The Doctor's Payee ID is the Provider Number attached to the specific practice location.
Schemes
If you are using Eclipse to submit your Access Gap Cover claims, please use 'Scheme' for all AHSA Funds except HBF. For HBF, please use ‘Agreement’.
